REGISTER HERE! January Calendar HAPPY NEW YEAR SORORS!
We made it my dear sorors! After what seemed like one of the longest years ever, we have crossed over into a new year! I am so grateful that we made it!
At our Executive Board meeting last Saturday, Chaplain Apryl Brown, brought forth a very appropriate and motivational word.
I’d like to share a portion of her message as it is so very befitting as we begin a new year and continue to serve . . . through the storm . . .
The Black National Anthem reminds us on how God has always move on our behalf throughout the years, stating: God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou who has brought us thus far on the way; Thou who has by thy might, Led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pray Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met thee, Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget thee, Shadowed beneath thy hand, May we forever stand, True to our God, True to our native land.
May the memories of your past victories strengthen your faith and prepare you to victoriously charter new and unforeseen territories in 2021. You did not choose God, but He chose and equipped you for this Delta assignment.
Marching DAC Orders for 2021
1) Be acutely aware that you are fearfully and wonderfully made created in the image of God
2) Be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
3) Be a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being save and among those who are perishing.
4) Be clothed with the garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness as you wear your crimson and cream.
5) Be confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
6) Be constant in educating and edifying one another knowing that iron sharpens iron.
7) Be a light of the world brightly shinning as you wear your 9 white pearls representing compassion, courtesy, dedication, fellowship, fidelity, honesty, justice, and purity.
8) Be the drivers of excellence as you forget those things which are behind, and reach forth unto those things which are before, and press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
9) Be as eagles soaring high while carrying out the mission of Delta Sigma Theta. But how you may ask? (Isaiah 58:14) By delighting thyself in the LORD; and He will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
10) Be agents of change exemplified by our 22 founders walking worthy of the LORD unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Unite as a force to be reckon with during times of sisterly and community need where people expect the Deltas to be coming! Mission accomplishment. Yes, because the Deltas were already there! March on my sorors and be blessed in your journey… Amen.
Yours in Service, Larmender A. Davis President
