Assemble supplies for a “go-bag” you can carry if you need to evacuate. • Have back-up power sources available to charge devices in case of power outage. • Snap pictures of your property for insurance purposes. THREE The Nation’s Capitol Building: Lessons from Last Week We were all disturbed and angered by the attempted insurgency we witnessed on January 6. It was a lesson on how things can go amok when people lack understanding and “facts” come from a foundation of hate. Our committee has received calls and texts about what we can do to combat something that is loomed over us and our ancestors for centuries. We believe that Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, the Sorority’s National Chaplain said it best during Sunday’s Founders Day Worship Service: “Don’t quit, don’t backup, move forward and do the work!” Service is the foundation of our great sorority. That is what we are celebrating this week during our 108th year. We will do as our 22 Founders did and as we have done for the past four years. We will persevere, shift when needed and succeed.
