Davis President Updated December Calendar NEW INFORMATION FOUNDERS DAY SAVE-THE-DATE More information forthcoming. Founders Day Committee LaNeice Jones, Chair Jennifer Wheeler, Co-Chair SOCIAL ACTION A Year End Message from the Social Action Committee As we finalize preparations for the holidays, let’s remember our family and friends in Georgia as they complete Early Voting leading up to the January 5, 2021 Election Day. Let’s do what we can to support candidates and organizations that uplift democracy and voter advocacy. Please refer to the previous week’s Hotline for details on how to help. Next year, we will prepare for the local elections being held in August and November 2021 by serving as an organization advocating for Voter Literacy -Knowing the candidates, understanding their platforms -Knowing the ballot issues We will also focus on criminal justice reform, the Michigan Citizen Redistricting Commission proceedings, and a new initiative from Delta “Say Her Name” focusing on the power of Black women and issues that are important to us like reproductive rights and pay equity. Delta Days at the Nation’s Capital will be held virtually April 24-25, 2021, but we will not have Delta Days at the State Capital. There is still much to do and we hope you will join us as we continue the legacy of our Founders by providing service to our community in 2021. The Social Action Committee wishes you and your family the best of the holiday season. Although Christmas, Kwanzaa, and New Year’s Eve will not be the same this year, we pray that you will still enjoy time with family and friends, in a safe fashion. May we all start January 1, 2021 rested and with a renewed energy to serve.
