Thank you to those who participated in the reflection exercises in November and especially to those who shared your reflections with me. If you did not get to participate, I encourage you to review the three previous Hotlines, prioritize yourself, and pause and reflect as we end this very tumultuous year. As we enter into the last month of the year, we’ll start to be immersed in the Christmas spirit. Though we may not have our usual hustle and bustle, and though this year is probably different than most, as many may have experienced loss, may be isolated, or may be experiencing a myriad of emotions, I hope you can find the good in this year – and appreciate and remember the spirit of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ. I love you sorors, and I hope these final weeks of 2020 being you peace, joy, and happiness. Yours in Service, Larmender A. All sorors are invited to join us as we finalize plans for January – June 2021. TWO We still need to get our family and friends living in Georgia to register andprepare to vote in the Senate runoff! Here’s nonpartisan information from ourNational Partner, When We All Vote: What’s a runoff? On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, Georgia will hold runoff elections for its two seats in the United States Senate, which will also decide which party controls the chamber. A runoff election occurs when no candidate in the general election meets the 50% majority threshold. In this case, both U.S. Senate races in Georgia will move on to a runoff. Only two candidates for each race will compete for the seat — and the winner will be determined by VOTERS. Who can participate?Any eligible voter in Georgia! If you live in Georgia, this is your chance to make your voice heard once again or for the first time. You did not have to vote in the November 3rd elections to be eligible to participate in the runoffs. And if you weren’t old enough to vote on November 3rd, that’s okay! As long as you will be 18 by January 5th, you can vote in the runoff elections. Please share the graphic below on your social media platforms. THREE Want to help with efforts in Georgia? Consider donating to the organization Fair Fight, founded by Stacey Abrams. Its purpose is to advocate and protect free, fair and secure elections across the country. They are now focusing on the Senate runoff in Georgia. To get more information about the organization and to give a donation, go to https://fairfight.com/fair-fight-2020/ .
