If not grab a beverage and some snacks and check it out! DAC Year-End Video END OF THE YEAR REFLECTION Let’s Journal Together Part 2 of 3 As I mentioned during November’s Sorority meeting, I’m going to spend the next few weeks asking each of us to remember to spend some time in year-end reflection. It’s the social worker in me. This is part two of three. Did you find time last week to pause and reflect? Does it feel different this year to dream or plan for the New Year? By choosing to pause and reflect, we become more aware of what’s really going on with our hearts, emotions and current thought cycle. By digging into these areas intentionally, focusing on finding alignment, we can begin to holistically grasp our current state. If we stay aligned with God, when either challenges or opportunities come up, we’ll be able to make decisions from a stable place. Choosing our path, guided by peace and not anxiety, will surely lead to emotional freedom from fear. I invite you once again this week to have an honest conversation with yourself. I know it’s hard to find uninterrupted time to devote to reflecting, but let’s push through and make it a priority to do this together. Schedule a time, even 20 minutes a day. Curl up in your favorite spot, grab your favorite drink and a journal. Then call your heart, mind and soul to your attention. And again, if you so desire, please email a few of your thoughts to president@detroitdeltas.org. I’d love to hear your reflections! Here are the next set of journal prompts: What has worked well for you throughout 2020? What’s the vision for yourself, your work, the Chapter, and your family? What resources or support do you need to help make it happen? I look forward to hearing some reflections! Also sorors, please enjoy your Thanksgiving. We may not be able to get together like we’d like, but we still have plenty to be thankful for! Be blessed! *excerpts from Grit and Virtue Yours in Service, Larmender A. Risk Management Committee Mary Meeks, Chair Andrea Dunbar, Co-Chair SOCIAL ACTION ![]() THREE IMPORTANT THINGS FOR THIS WEEK ONE Help to spread information to your family and friends living in Georgia about the Senate Run Offs. The following is nonpartisan information from our National Partner When We All Vote What’s a runoff? On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, Georgia will be holding runoff elections for its two seats in the United States Senate, which will also decide which party controls the chamber. A runoff election occurs when no candidate in the general election meets the 50% majority threshold. Only two candidates for each race will compete for the seat. Who can participate? Any eligible voter in Georgia! If you live in Georgia, this is your chance to make your voice heard once again or for the first time. You did not have to vote in the November 3rd elections to be eligible to participate in the runoffs. And if you weren’t old enough to vote on November 3rd, that’s okay! As long as you will be 18 by January 5th, you can vote in the runoff elections. If you or someone you know in Georgia is not registered to vote yet, the registration deadline for the Georgia runoffs is Monday, December 7. Please share the social media post below. TWO Consider donating to the organization Fair Fight founded by Stacey Abrams. Its purpose is to advocate and protect free, fair and secure elections across the country. They are now focusing on the Senate run off in Georgia. To get more information about the organization and to give a donation, go to https://fairfight.com/fair-fight-2020/. THREE Consider donating to a Georgia Senate candidate or candidates of your choice. Donations allow them to reach more voters. The candidates are as followed: Rev. Raphael Warnock, Democrat Website: https://warnockforgeorgia.com/ To volunteer: https://warnockforgeorgia.com/take-action/ Jon Ossoff, Democrat Website: electjon.com To volunteer: https://www.mobilize.us/electjon/event/362688/ Senator David Perdue, Republican (Challenged by Jon Ossoff) Website: https://perduesenate.com/ To volunteer: https://perduesenate.com/get-involved/volunteer/ Senator Kelly Loeffler, Republican (Challenged by Rev.
