END OF THE YEAR REFLECTION Let’s Journal Together As I mentioned during Saturday’s Sorority meeting, I’m going to spend the next few weeks asking each of us to remember to spend some time in year-end reflection. It’s the social worker in me. I ask this because I know how powerful it is to pause to reflect and to celebrate. 2020 has required so much from us. Therefore, I believe it’s essential for us to spend some time being quiet and reflecting on all we’ve learned and to find meaning in our experiences before entering a new year. What a gift we give ourselves during the holiday season when we take time for ourselves to pause, think thoughts of gratitude and acknowledge all of the provisions we’ve been given over this past year – as God has provided even through the storm. Let’s celebrate every gift and every win, in our personal lives and in the life of DAC. So, for the next few weeks, as we prepare to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021, I will dedicate this president’s message to encouraging these moments of reflection by providing writing prompts as thought-starters for your journaling moments. Even though it can be hard to find uninterrupted time to devote to reflecting, let’s make it a priority to do this together. So, schedule a time, even 20 minutes a day. Curl up in your favorite spot, grab your favorite drink and a journal. Then call your heart, mind and soul to your attention.
