SOCIAL ACTION
Congratulations to Vice President-elect Kamala Harris!
The history-making member of the Divine Nine (AKA)and HBCU alum (Howard University)Harris is the first woman, first African American, first South Asian American, and the first person who self-identifies as biracial to serve in this position.
Equally important, she is qualified and prepared to serve at a time such this! We are proud of her achievement, as we see ourselves when we look at her and our young girls and teenagers can see the possibilities for their lives
An additional congratulations goes to African-American women voters. We again demonstrated our power to determine an election. We continue to be the soul of country and to set it on a corrected path.
IMPORTANT THINGS FOR THIS WEEK
1.     We honor the sorors who served on Election Day to ensure that everyone had an opportunity vote, helped to protect our votes and helped to count our votes. A special thank you goes to the sorors who served at the TCF Center and assisted in counting the votes in Detroit. Unfortunately, there were individuals who sought to disfranchise our vote, but our sorors and their colleagues at TCF kept the orderly and efficient counting of the votes going under a lot of pressure.
Sorors, your conduct of the count helped to show the world the power of the African-American vote and to not underestimate Detroiters!
2.     We honor all of our sorors who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces as we acknowledge Veteran’s Day is being recognized this Wednesday, November 12. Although we were consumed with Election Day programming, we still would like to honor our sorors for their service.
Please email your name, rank, branch of military and your length of service to socialaction@detroitdeltas.org by Friday, November 13 at noon and we will provide a formal recognition this month.
ONE LAST THING… The Social Action Committee meets this week on Thursday, November 12 at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. We invite you to join us as we debrief from the November 3 election and discuss upcoming activities for December and January 2021.

GOT DUES?

During this challenging Sorority year, our chapter will depend on membership dues more than ever before – because of the impact this pandemic is having on our fundraising plans.

If you haven’t paid your dues yet, save yourself a little money, and do so ASAP by mailing them to:
