THREE IMPORTANT THINGS FOR THIS WEEK ONE
“Walking in Our Power: Lessons for Election 2021″ Tuesday, January 26 ~ 6 – 7:30 p.m.   Prepare for the upcoming local elections by reviewing the lessons learned from the 2020 elections. 
Maintaining momentum and continuing to harness the power we used during the presidential election of November 3, 2020 that led to a change in the White House and Congress.  Speakers include: Khalilah Spencer, NAACP Legal Redress Committee Hester Wheeler, Assistant Secretary of State Rhonda Powell, Metro Equality Collaborative

We need additional sorors to volunteer with our committee and our partner CitizenDetroit for their 2021 programming year.  The volunteers would serve as facilitators for the “Virtual Dinner & Dialogue” programs, as well as other virtual programming which includes an upcoming forum on Democracy and the Riot at the Capitol and the reveal of their civics project with DPSCD.  Training will be provided by CitizenDetroit for all programs and forums.  For more information and to register, go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F084EAFA92EA0F94-dacpartner.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

LOVE ON OUR VETERANS
On Sunday, February 14, between 4-6 p.m., we will deliver catered, individually wrapped meals, to our veterans at Michigan Veteran’s Foundation and Piquette Square as we Love on Our Veterans. Since the meal has already been taken care of, we as a chapter are committed to responding to their needs.
Both sites have requested we consider donating:  Socks  Hygiene products  Household cleaning products  Laundry Soap 
Sorors, no donation is too small or too big. We appreciate your support. If you’d like to donate any of the items you can drop them off at the DSTDFI Headquarters on the following dates: 
Thursday, Feb. 4, from 5 – 630 p.m.  Thursday, Feb. 11, from 5 – 630 p.m.  Friday, Feb. 12, from 5 – 6:30 p.m. 
To drop off items, simply pull up to the door, and a soror will receive them. Please be sure to wear your mask when you arrive.

We have finally arrived! After a few years of inactivity, we are ready to re-launch the Red Room for our Chapter. This is the members only section of our website that will house important chapter information as well as a chapter calendar, allowing you to sign-up for committees and so much more!
Below is a quick summary on what to expect and next steps, but please refer to the attached manual for full details. 
All financial members will be provided a detroitdeltas.org email address over the next few weeks. PLEASE NOTE** YOU CAN NOT ACCESS THE RED ROOM UNTIL YOU RECEIVE YOUR NEW DETROIT DELTAS EMAIL ADDRESS We will send it to the personal email address on file with the chapter.  You should then login here to complete setup of your new email account (see attached Manual for full details) After you have set your new password, your email address setup is complete – now head over to the Red Room! 
The HOTLINE will list a variety of ways to assist those experiencing issues,

2021 – 2022 DUES INFORMATION
The Detroit Alumnae Chapter is accepting dues for the 2021 – 2022 Sorority year!
The Dues Letter was mailed out on December 16, 2020 to current Chapter members, as part of a larger Chapter mailing. Unfortunately, due to the backlog at the USPS, many of you have not yet received the mailing.
Therefore, we are sending the required dues form via this special Hotline.
The fillable dues forms can be printed and mailed: Download and save form/s to your computer Type your information in on the fillable sections of Dues and/or Credit Card form/s Print the form/s
Then either mail or deliver: Dues form Credit card form -or- check

IF DELIVERING DUES: There is a small red Delta magnet on the inside door, a note with directions on the security door, and an ink pen. If you don’t see these, you are not at the correct house.

Greetings Sorors of the Mighty Midwest Region,
The National Nominating Committee is super excited about the November 30, 2020 release of the Call for Nominations. The Call can be found on the National website and we encourage you to review it in its entirety. In keeping with the rich history of the Midwest Region of slating Grand Chapter Officers, Committee Chairs, and/or Committee Members, I am here for you to answer any questions that you might have about the nominating process. 
The National Nominating Committee has prepared an informative Call for Nominations webinar. The final live webinar will take place on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 12 noon ET. I encourage all collegiate and alumnae members of the Midwest Region who are interested in running for office at the 55th National Convention to register for the upcoming webinar. The deadline to submit your application is Sunday, February 28, 2021 by 11:59 p.m. ET.
As your member of the Midwest Region, I am here for you as a resource to answer any questions and to guide you through the nominating process from applicant to candidate.
